The Beginning of Lasting Solutions
Testing for various learning disorders, such as dyslexia and dysgraphia, can provide direction to what type of intervention or other help should be given to individuals who have been struggling in reading, writing, and spelling.
Many of these are inherited conditions, and not necessarily rare. The symptoms can be mild in one person and severe in another. Dyslexia can be diagnosed in children as young as age 5. Testing allows for appropriate remedial programs to be given so that an individual with dyslexia can learn to read, write, and spell proficiently.
No single test will confirm most learning disorders. Rather, a battery of tests that focus on the expressive and receptive areas of language are given.
