Ongoing training broadens Successful Learning’s knowledge

Our primary work at Successful Learning Educational Services is serving students with dyslexia.  However, some students have challenges beyond their primary disability, issues which even further impact their ability to learn. These can include conditions such as ADHD, anxiety disorders, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. We’ve also found that several of our students struggle due to sensory integration difficulties, or may need additional occupational therapy support.

While SLES staff is already very knowledgeable in these areas, we also believe that a broad-based, continuing education for all our staff is vital to providing the best service to our clients. To support this, we invite top learning and education professionals to provide staff training, and on January 9th of this year we were pleased to have with us Sharron Donnelly (MS, OTR/L), co-founder and owner of Advanced Pediatric Therapies, to help deepen our understanding of the intersecting of these issues, and to further explore potential remedies.

Dr. Seuss Artwork Unveiled!

Successful Learning, Dr. Seuss and Reading

Successful Learning Educational Services recently purchased two limited edition Seuss prints from Marcus Ashley Fine Art Gallery in Tahoe, Nevada. The art displays our work perfectly! Our tutors and staff come alongside a student who would love to be able to read. These students, who need reading instruction provided in the way that they learn, require support during this journey to reading. We provide the necessary support and instruction. In time, students are then able to read whatever they desire on their own. This is the reason we are celebrating!

Life is messy!  Do you sometimes feel so overwhelmed that your ability to focus is interrupted, you have difficulty getting things accomplished, and even how you communicate with others is impacted?  HeartMath® courses provide attendees with techniques to become more equipped to handle life’s more challenging moments.

We all need the ability to bring into focus what we are really feeling and thinking…the ability to bring our heart and mind together.  We need tools that we can use in the moment when we could otherwise feel overwhelmed and disengaged.  We need to recognize what brings us energy and what depletes our daily capacity to thrive.

HeartMath techniques will help you to synchronize what your heart and mind is telling you and provide you with techniques to bounce back from difficult moments in your day. These simple, but effective, tools will help you to better recognize whether your heart and mind are in sync, and how that can affect you physically, emotionally, and mentally. This short course will provide you with techniques that are available to you wherever you are and whenever you need them.

Don’t waste another day feeling overwhelmed!  Join us for this middle-of-the day class.  You will be finished before your children get out of school…and in fact, might have more resilience and coping skills to manage the rest of the day with your family!
